Andorra is one of the oldest countries in the world. It was mentioned for the first time in the annals of II century B.C. One of the smallest states of Europe, parliamentary princedom, it is located between Spain and France.
Climate in Andorra is mountain subtropical. Average temperature of January is +2 °С, and in June it is +20 °С.
The part of the population is occupied in potato and tobacco cultivation and the cultivation of sheep, others are engaged in tourism.
The main reason for tourists to visit Andorra is the ample quantity of mounting skiing resorts. Also tourists are attracted by the picturesque landscapes and a considerable quantity of old churches.
In the capital city Andorra-la-Velja St. Armenol’s church (XI century) and government residence «House of Valleys» (XVI century) cause special interest among tourists.
Annually on the first Saturday of August on the La Nobke square passes three-day festival which is very popular among tourists. In Caldea (east suburb of capital) a huge health complex is located, and in Ordino (other suburb) there is well-known skiing centre Ordino-Arkalis.
It's interesting that in Andorra there is no airports, therefore borders are opened for entrance from Spain and France.
