San Salvador de Jujuy is a city in northwestern Argentina, capital of the Jujuy Province. The city lies near the southern end of the Humahuaca Canyon where wooded hills meet the lowlands. Its population as for the 2001 census is of 237,751 inhabitants, with around 400,000 counting its surroundings. Its current mayor is Jose Luis Martiarena.
