Coonabarabran - the closest city to the English-Australian Telescope on 3.9 m, to the greatest optical telescope in Australia, located on the Adjoining Spring Mountain. There is a small radio station. This station broadcasts with the limited distance of a broadcast because of a hilly landscape. There are 3 schools: younger, average, senior. The senior school is Catholic. Being a small country town, Coonabarabran has two main shopping centres, plus a fast food and a pizzeria. There is a local bakery.

From July, 6 till July, 14th in Pamplona is celebrated a holiday, devoted to St. Fermin, bishop living in ХIII century, who rescued Pamplona from plague epidemic. Being first purely religious, later the holiday has turned in colourful national celebrations.
