Creswick - a city in the West central Victoria. It in 18 kilometres to the north from Ballarat and in 129 km to the northwest from Melbourn, in Grafstve Gerburn. Is on 430 metres above sea level. In 2006 lived 3064 persons. The city has developed in the period of a gold-rush in the middle of 19th century. At this time the population has reached peak of 25000 persons. Today, local industries include forestry and agriculture. Creswick was a site of disaster of Gold mine on December, 12th 1882, the worst disaster of a mining industry of Australia during which time 22 men have sunk. Creswick now campus - a part of university of Melbourn. The city has the Australian soccer team competing in the Central Football league of Mountain district. In Creswicka vein the well-known family of artists of Lindsej.
