Kalgoorlie - small town in Australia. Has arisen on a place of East Gold Mines. The city has been based in 1893 during a gold-rush and located close to so-called to "Gold Mile". The name of Kalgoorlie means "a place of silky pears". The Gold mining and nickel of a steel in days of the Gold-rush primary activity in the given edge and plays till now a considerable role in local economy. In the first years of a life of a city in connection with a gold mining the essential share of the population was made by gangsters, in a city there was a set of bars and brothels. In 1896 to a city the first railway has been spent. Now besides the railway through a city passes Highway of Gold Mines.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
