In 1849 on its place there was a village. In its 1870 recognised as municipality. In 1946 Wagga Wagga has been declared by a city and began to develop on the south. The city is protected from flooding by a dam. A city - large military garrison. The dairy industry is developed. Bus transport works basically except the days off. There is a taxi. Through centre Wagga Wagga passes highway. Railway station Wagga Wagga is located on Sydney-Melbourn a railroad line. • Diplomatic Worker's Day (Russia)

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
