Austria is located in the Central Europe, in the basin of Danube river.
Climate is moderate continental and it is not surprising because Austria is located in the mountain district and is an inland state. The average temperature reduces to -2 °С in winter, and rises to +20 °С in summer.
The mountain district, the Alps, attracts fans of mountain skiing. Here there are such well known mounting skiing resorts as Kitzbuhel, Saalbach, Innsbruck.
The capital of Austria is Vienna. Here there is St. Stephan’s cathedral, St. Ruprecht’s church, the well-known Viennese Museum of Arts, the Viennese Forest and other sights. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January, 27th, 1756 in the city of Salzburg. There is a house-museum in the building, where he was born.
Austria is economically developed country. The basic profits come from the dairy industry, metallurgy and mining. Also the huge profit is brought by the international tourism (annually the country is visited by about 15 million tourists). Austria is a part of the Shengen zone.
