Reutte is a market town in Tyrol, Austria. It is the administrative center of the Reutte district (Bezirk). Reutte is located at , on the Lech river, and has a population of 5,719 (2001). Reutte is linked to Garmisch-Partenkrichen and Kempten Allgau by train services operated by Deutsche Bahn. Reutte is a popular holiday resort and its proximity to the famous Bavarian Castles and the Ehrenburg Ruins make Reutte a cultural destination as well as a skiing destination.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
