Barbados is located on the island with the same name which is in the eastern part of the Caribbean Basin. From the western part the island is washed by the waters of Caribbean Sea and from the east side by the Atlantic Ocean.
The climate is soft enough, tropical. Water and air temperature remains constant for all year at a mark of +28 °С.
The first settlers of islands were from England. They appeared here in 1625. For 300 years the island was a colony of the Great Britain. In 1966 Barbados became the independent state. It is a member of British Commonwealth.
For three hundred years the sugar industry, the rum and molasses export were the basic source of the income of the country. But now the things have changed and the basic income comes from tourism. Beaches, the coral reeves, traditional carnivals are all make Barbados the unforgettable vacation spot for the majority of tourists.
From the colonial times Barbados has inherited love to golf, polo, cricket and the well-known five o’clock tea.
