Belarus is located in the Eastern Europe. The state has no outlet to the sea. All Belarus territory is situated on plains with moderate heights which are covered by numerous bogs and woods.
The climate is moderate continental which is common for the latitude. The average temperature of January is - 8 °С, and in July it is +19 °С.
In fourteenth century Belarus was a part of Lithuania, in sixteen century the confederation with Poland has created and in 18th century the state became the part of Russia. The independence was received by Belarus only in 1991.
In the woods of Belarus there are rare animals, for example bisons (European bisons).
The basic sights are the Belaveskaya Pushcha, the Fortress in Mira, Radzivills’ Fortress in Nesvizha, Jesuit church in Grodno and Cathedral in Polotsk.
Country’s primary activity is the agriculture and the industry. The basic profit is brought by the export of production of these branches.
Approximately 25 % of territory of Belarus is infected by the radiation from Chernobyl.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
