Information about country:Belize

Belize is located in Central America on the Yucatan peninsula. The east coast of the country is washed by the waters of Caribbean Sea. Climate is tropical, average temperature of July is + 25 °С, in January it is +23 °С.
All southern part of the country is covered by dense damp tropical woods; the northern part is covered by bogs. In a southern part there are Maya mountains, here there is located the highest point of the country called peak Victoria (1120 meters high).
Till 1950 export of raw wood was the main source of profit but after falling of the world wood prices export of sugar, bananas and citrus have become important.
Now tourism develops fast in the country. Tourists travel to Belize for its ancient monuments and Maya culture. Belize is a part of the international project «the World of Maya» as well as Guatemala and Mexico. The project’s purpose is to research and save the objects of culture and architecture of Maya which are located on Yucatan peninsula.
Belize is also known for the Barrier Reef which is occupied by various sea fishes.
