The state of Benin is located in the Western Africa. The southern coast of the country is washed by the waters of Atlantic Ocean.
Climate is equatorial and subequatorial. The mid-annual temperature fluctuates at a mark of +27 °С.
Nowadays the state of Benin is a democratic republic. The president is the head of country and of the government. The country is divided into six departments.
Benin is the agricultural country. The basic agricultural crops which grow up in the country are olive palm trees, cotton, tobacco, peanuts, coffee and sweet potato.
The most developed animal industries are sheep and dairy ones. In coastal zones of Benin fishery is developed.
The especially famous country sights are the presidential palace and the botanical garden in which practically all the country’s flora and fauna are presented.
Here there is a branch of Institute of Scientific Researches, the former French institute of Black Africa in which traditional craft products are presented.
