The Kingdom of Bhutan is located in South Asia, in the region of Eastern Himalayas difficult of access. It is bordered by China and India.
Government system is limited monarchy; the head of state is a King. Average temperature in January is +5 °С, +17 °С in July.
Bhutan is poorly developed agrarian country. Feudal relationships and subsistence farming are still common here. About 90 percent of population is occupied in agriculture.
There is a law about obligatory wearing national clothes. Television is prohibited and tourism is restricted.
The main sights are Buddhist monastery Taxang Lahang Dzong(VIII), a residence Tanicho Dzong and a memorial chorten.
Old Royal Palace, monasteries and chortens are also good places to visit. For active rest fans South Himalayas are particularly attractive.
