Information about country:Botswana

Botswana is located in the southern part of the African continent. The country’s most part is covered by Kalahari Desert; it covers about 85 percent of territory.
Climate is subtropical continental. In the course of day air temperature considerably changes, it can fall to 0 °С at night. The average temperature in January is + 25 °С, in July it’s + 16 °С. Nowadays Botswana is a parliamentary republic which is a part of the British Commonwealth. The country is divided into 10 administrative districts.
The basis of economy of republic is in mining operations: diamonds, copper and cobalt ores, asbestos and coal.
Because of hot climatic conditions plant growing is not practically developed.
In the country there are basically no historical and architectural monuments, it is possible to familiarize with all history and culture of the country in the museum of Ethnography and in National Museum. They are located in the capital of Botswana, a city of Gaborone. The natural sight is the delta of the Okavango River, consisting of thousand of islands and lagoons, occupying 15 thousand sq. km.
