Joinville is a city in Santa Catarina State, Southern Region of Brazil. Joinville is Santa Catarina's largest city. In 2006 its population was about 500,000, of whom the majority is of German descent. The city has an area of 1180km² and its HDI is 0,857, having one of the highest standards of living in Brazil.
