Bancroft is a town near the York River in Hastings County in the Canadian province of Ontario. In 2001, the population was 4,089 (-6.1% population change). The area of the town was 227.85 square kilometres. The town of Bancroft has also seen increasing Business and Commercial property and tourism with the addition of new grocery chains, furniture stores, a golf course community, a business office apartments building and more houses planned to be built as well as a plan of building a Walmart store near Bancroft.
