The republic of Chile stretches across almost the whole South American coast of Pacific ocean. Also the structure of Chile includes some coastal islands and the Easter Island.
The climate is various. It changes from deserted tropical to the moderate continental.
Before the arrival of the European colonizers on the territory of Chile here there lived the American Indian people which lived in a settled way and were engaged in fishery, hunting and agriculture.
Nowadays Chile is an industrial-agrarian country. Chile is a leading country in extraction and export of copper and molybdenum. The pasturable cattle breeding and sea fishery prevails in agriculture.
In the capital of Chile, the city of Santiago, there is palace complex La Moneda which was a mint two centuries ago. Here there is a house of famous Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, a palace of arts Palasio de Bellas and other architectural sights.
Easter Island is remote from coast Chile approximately on 3700 km to the west. This island is well-known for hundreds enormous moai statues in its territory. They are made from volcanic basalt and sinter. For scientists from all over the world the fact of creating and moving the statues from central part of the island to the shore remains mysterious.
