Qingyuan (Chinese: 清远 Pinyin: Qīngyuǎn) is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong province of the People's Republic of China with a total population of 1.626 million. It covers an area of 19.000 km² and it is the city of the largest area in Guangdong. Qingyuan is on Bei Jiang river. There is an expressway to Guangzhou. Qingyuan city is surrounded by mountainous areas. Cantonese is mainly spoken here.
