Cyprus is an island state in western Asia. It is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea.
The head of state is president.
Average temperature in January is about +12 °С, in August +28 °С. The period between July and September is considered the best time for having holidays on this island.
Cyprus is industrial and agrarian country. Agriculture and stock-raising industries are fundamentals of state’s economy. Cypriots multiply cattle, sheep. They are occupied in fishery, sericulture.
The country holds many legends. That is why there are lots of monuments and museums. Municipal museum of Nicosia, Archbishop’s palace are located in the capital. Colossi fort, Odeon Theater and Paphos tiles in the Theseus villa’s ruins are also located in Cyprus. Paphos is known for its tiles, Apollo’s sanctuary and rulers’ tombs. Temple of Aphrodite is a place where piligrimers from all over the world gather.
