Djibouti is located in the northeast of Africa. It has an outlet to the waters of the Aden Gulf. The country is situated in a zone of seismic activity.
Climate of the country is tropical, dry and hot. Seasonal fluctuations of temperature are insignificant; the mid-annual temperature reaches a point of +27 °С.
Till 1977 Djibouti was called the French Coast Somalia and was a part of the French colonies. And in 1977 it has been proclaimed the republic and has received the modern name together with independence.
The economy in Djibouti is practically not developed. The basic income is received from transport operations in harbors. From architectural sights it is possible to name mosques and the newly built Arabian palaces and the Presidential Palace. Historical sights are not presented in the country.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
