El Salvador is located in Central America; the southern part of the country is washed by the Pacific Ocean.
Climate is moderate, except coastal zones where it’s tropical. The mid-annual temperature fluctuates about a mark of +24 °С.
In X-XII centuries on the modern territory of Republic El Salvador there lived Mayan tribes and later there were empires of Aztecs. In the middle of the XII century the state was colonized by Spaniards.
El Salvador is considered the most populous country of Central America, the general amount of population is 6.5 million.
In this country the agriculture is developed, the population grows up coffee, corn, ambercane and beans for export.
The most important remarkable sight of El Salvador is an ancient Mayan city Tatsumal. Its name means the “pyramid where victims have been burnt”.
Most sights are situated in the capital and its vicinities. They are dome-shaped Metropolitan Cathedral, David Gusman’s museum of history and anthropology, the Capital National Botanical Garden of La Lagoon.
El Salvador is famous for the «sorpressos» ceramics.
