The republic of Finland is located in the Northern Europe. It is washed by Finnish and Botnic gulfs of Baltic Sea.
The winter in Finland is soft, average temperature in southern part fluctuates from - 4 °С to - 8 °С, and in the northern part it is from -13 °С to-14 °С.
This country is called “country of the midnight sun” as during the time of summer solstice in the south of Finland the sun shines nineteen hours a day. In the Far North the sun does not come for 73 days. The white nights can be observed in Lapland.
Two third of country’s territories is occupied woods and one third of country is boggy.
It is industrial-agrarian country. Leading branches are the mechanical engineering, extracting industry, food industry and agriculture.
Helsinki is considered one of the most beautiful cities of the world. Interesting places are the Lutheran cathedral, the Senatorial area, Orthodox Church of the St. Trinity and more than 70 museums. In Tamper it is possible to visit the Museum of Mummie-Trolls.
You can meet Santa Claus in Lapland which is on border of the Polar circle.
Downhill skiing resorts are popular among tourists. Most famous ones are Jullas, Paliakka, Ukkohalla, Salla Tuntury.
The Finnish saunas are the essential part of life in Finland. The favorite drink here is coffee; the country has the first place in the world by the coffee consummation.
