The republic of Gabon is located in the central part of the African continent at the southern coast of the gulf of Guinea. Climate in the country is equatorial and subequatorial. The mid-annual temperature fluctuates near +22 … +27 °С.
The history of Gabon is explored poorly. It is considered that pygmies were the first inhabitants of the territory of modern Gabon; later the Bantu tribes came and lived there. Nowadays Gabon’s political system is republic. The head of state is the president.
The basic profitable part of republic’s economy is made by mining and wood industries. There are many deposits of various minerals like uranium, manganese, oil, gold, iron and natural gas. The capital city Libreville is the largest cultural centre of Republic Gabon. Here there are various universities, the research centers and institutes, a number of branches of French scientific institutions and national museums.
