Ghana is located in the western part of Africa. It has an outlet to the waters of Atlantic Ocean. Climate in the country is the equatorial monsoonal. The average temperature in March reaches + 35 °С, and in August it’s + 23 °С.
Portugueses have appeared in territory of modern Ghana earlier than other Europeans. In 15 century they built trading ports from which they sent slaves, gold and an ivory.
In 1960 the country became republic. Nowadays Ghana is the unitary republic and a part of British Commonwealth. The country is divided into 10 administrative areas.
In Ghana agrarian and mining complexes are developed. Peasants grow up cocoa, sweet potato, a sugar cane. Also they extract manganese ore, gold, diamonds and bauxites.
It is prohibited to export jewels, animals and birds.
The basic sights of Ghana are various European strongholds and structures.
