The republic of Haiti is located in the western part of the island with the same name; other part of island is occupied by Dominican Republic. The island is included into group of the Big Antilles. From the north side Haiti is washed by the Atlantic Ocean and from southern by the Caribbean Sea. Climate is tropical. Temperature is practically constant all year. It is usually +22 … +28 °С. From June till September on island there are often destructive tropical hurricanes. The republic Haiti was a colony of France till 1804. It is the first Latin American country which became the independent state.
In this republic there are many national parks in which the considerable quantity of various plants grows, including about 600 kinds of ferns and more than 300 kinds of orchids. In national park La Visit it is possible to take various fascinating excursions on the hills of De La Sell. The route passes on a picturesque landscape which is created by surprisingly beautiful rocks (local residents have nicknamed them is «the broken teeth»).
Considerable quantity of holidays, festivals and carnivals pass in Haiti every year. It is necessary to consider this fact when visiting the republic.
