Honduras is located in the northern part of the Central American neck of land. In the southern part the state has an outlet to Fonseca bay and from a North side to the Caribbean Sea. Some of the islands of Honduras are located in Caribbean Sea.
Climate is tropical. Seasonal changes of temperature are not practically appreciable. The average temperature within a year changes from +22 °С to +26 °С.
The tourist season begins in February and comes to an end in April. It is suggested to tourists to visit places of dwelling of ancient American Indian civilizations.
Many holidays and carnivals pass there annually. Carnivals usually last some weeks and are accompanied by parties, costume processions, songs and dances.
The capital of Honduras is the city of Tegucigalpa. It was founded in 1536. The main remarkable sight of a city is the church of St. Francis. The church was constructed in 16 century. It has very strange form though it was constructed in the Spanish style. The Komayaguelian market has great popularity among tourists.
Not far from Tegucigalpa there is a cathedral Basilica de Sujapa, built in Gothic style. It is devoted to St. Virgen.
