Iraq is located in southwest Asia. It has an outlet to the Persian Gulf. Most part of the country is on the flat of Mesopotamia.
Average temperature is around +33 °С in summer, +7 °С in winter.
The base of the economy is oil. About 30% of population is oссupied in agriculture, cultivation of dates and cucurbitaceous, livestock farming.
An Najaf, Kerbela are holy cities, as they have Shiite imams’ tombs on their territories. In Baghdad you can visit museum with lots of exhibits from ancient Mesopotamia. In Kerbela there is the tomb of Husein ibn Ali. The mosque with golden dome is located in Khedimain. In a few kilometers near Baghdad you can see ruins of Babylon. Nowadays tourism slowly begins to develop. The tourist center with monuments and historic programs is in project.
