Arenzano is a coastal town in the province of Genoa, Liguria, Italy. It is located at around 44°23′60″N, 8°40′60″E. Official population as of 31 December 2004 11,624. This varies a lot during the holiday seasons, since it is a reasonably popular holiday resort for Italians. There are a number of festivals during the summer, as with many towns in Italy. It is very close to Genoa (the capital town of the province). Of note in the town are the communal gardens (which is where the "commune" or town hall are), endowed with rare trees like Lebanon cedars and Araucarias, and the five-centuries-old watch tower, called Saracens' Tower, built to prevent sudden incursions of pirates from Maghreb.
