The state is located in south Europe, in the central Mediterranean district. It occupies Apennine peninsula. Near the shore Sicily and Sardinia islands are situated. Italy is a republic, governed by president. Legislative institution is bicameral parliament (deputy’s chamber and senate).
Territorial extension in longitude explains climatic variability in Italy. For example in central Italy winter is soft and summer is not so hot (average temperature in Rome in July is +25 °С).
It’s industrial-agrarian country. Most developed sectors are machine-building, food industry, wine-making, oil-refining, shoe industry.
Italy is one of the most romantic places in the world. In Rome you can visit St. Mark’s Cathedral, Capitol square, Trajan’s forum, which is a huge complex, consisted of temple, two libraries, court building. Saturn Temple (498 b.c.), July Caesar’s Temple, 29 meters high Marcus Aurelius column, mausoleum with remains of Rafael and Italian kings. In Milan you can visit “la Scala”, Museum of Milan, the Cathedral. In Venice: Doges’ palace, barocco churches. In Florence: Palacco Pitti, Clocks tower and more other wonderful places. Italy is famous for its skiing resorts like Bormio and Murano.
