Japan is located in the eastern part of Asia. It occupies some islands like Honshu, Kyushu, Shikoku, Hokkaido, etc. The islands are washed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the East Chinese, Ohotsk and Japanese Seas.
The state system of Japan is constitutional monarchy; the head of state is the emperor who in fact is «a symbol of the state and unity of the nation».
Japan is extremely highly-developed country. An economy is good. It consists of shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, the chemical industry. Also people here are engaged in manufacture of cement, plastic, oil. In coastal areas of the country inhabitants are engaged in extraction of seafood and fishery.
«Sacred Gates» are the main symbol of the country. They represent an entrance to the sanctuary of Izukusima which is on the Mijadzima Island. The monastery itself stays in water on piles.
In Tokyo it is possible to visit the National museum which is the largest art museum of Japan, a Calligraphy museum, some Buddhist temples and also to visit a zoo and to admire the Tokyo television tower (the height is 333 meters). In Kobe and Kyoto the large quantity of churches, temples, palaces, and also parks and the most beautiful gardens is concentrated.
Japan is the most ancient empire of the world which leaves strong and interesting impressions for the long time.
