The state of Laos is in South East Asia. It is located on the Indochina peninsula. Bordering countries are China, Cambodia, Myanma and Thailand. Borders pass on ridges of mountains and the river Mekong.
The head of the state is the president.
The average temperature of July fluctuates nearby +30 °С, in January from +15 °С to 23 °С, but in mountains the temperature can be a little bit lower.
Laos is an agrarian country. Economy basics are agriculture and forestry, a gold mining, tin ore.
Considerable quantity of architectural constructions, temples, monasteries is concentrated in the country.
In capital there is a Pha Luang mortar, royal temple Vat Phra Kheo, the Museum of the Buddha, ruins of Vang Sang temple. In Luang Prabang 32 pagodas are kept, they have been constructed before the French colonization.
In the country there are many reserves and national parks. For tourists in Dong Sieng Honghi and Dong Hiasau safaris and excursions on elephants are often arranged.
The basic resorts are Savannakhet and Luang Prabang. Mountain landscapes, cultural monuments and surprising beauty of mysterious Laos will present unforgettable impressions of rest in this country.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
