The Near-Eastern state of Lebanon is located at the coast of Mediterranean Sea. Borders on Israel and Syria.
Political system of modern Lebanon is independent democratic republic. The head of state is the president.
The economy basis is made by tourist business, trade and financial activities. Here there are factories of food, textile and clothing industry.
The average temperature of January is +13 °С, in July it’s near +28 °С, but in mountain areas frosts are very common.
The cultural capital of the Near East has all conditions for various kinds of rest. Here it is possible to get acquainted with the history of architectural buildings and palaces, temples and fortresses. A considerable quantity of monuments can be found in Beirut. The most famous ones are Martiry fortress and others.
Many places of interest are situated in Junia, that is a resort zone where it is possible to see St. Paul's and St. Anthon’s Temples, a statue of the Virgin Mary. Biblos is known as a city where the Phoenician alphabet was found.
Fans of winter sports can visit resorts of Sidar, Zaarur, Fakhre.
