Deventer is a municipality and city in the Salland region of the Dutch province of Overijssel. Deventer is largely situated on the east bank of river IJssel, but also has a small part of its territory on the west bank. In 2005 the municipality of Bathmen (pop. 5,000) was merged with Deventer as part of a national effort to reduce bureaucracy in the country. Deventer has a railway station on the important line Amsterdam / Utrecht - Amersfoort - Osnabrück - Berlin / Hamburg, crossing here the line Groningen - Zwolle - Arnhem - Nijmegen. It is also situated along the motorway A1 ( Amsterdam {90 km/ 56 miles west} - Berlin - Moscow).

From July, 6 till July, 14th in Pamplona is celebrated a holiday, devoted to St. Fermin, bishop living in ХIII century, who rescued Pamplona from plague epidemic. Being first purely religious, later the holiday has turned in colourful national celebrations.
