The republic Panama is situated on the neck of land between the Central and South Americas. The geographical position of Panama like this: it separates the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans from each other. Approximately half of its territory is covered by mountains, on other half of territory of the country fertile plains are located.
Climate is damp subequatorial. The mid-annual temperature fluctuates from +25 to +28 °С. In Panama the earthquakes and eruptions of volcanoes happen from time to time.
Panama was opened in 1501, and in 1502 it already have become a colony of Spain. Nowadays Panama is the republican state which head is the president.
Panama is considered one of the largest trading, transport and financial centers of Latin America. The industry in the country is developed very poorly but agriculture is well developed. Here inhabitants grow up citrus, coffee, bananas, tobacco and a sugar cane.
Numerous picturesque channels and bays and also coral islands are remarkable sights of these lands. Among historical monuments it is possible to observe the rests of ancient civilization of Kokle and the Catholic Cathedral which is in the city of Panama.
