The state of Qatar is located in southwest Asia, on the Arabian Peninsula. It is washed by the waters of Persian Gulf.
The form of government is absolute monarchy; the head of state is emir.
The base of Qatar’s economy is oil-refining and oil-producing, cement and fertilizer production. The population is also occupied in sea fishery, agriculture and stock rising. Average temperature is +16 °С in January and rises up to +32 °С in July. There are very few days with precipitation during the whole year.
The main sights are ethnographical museum, national museum, house of administration, Kornish embankment and traditional eastern markets. There are many libraries with large collections of books.
