Romania is the state which is located in the southern part of Europe in the basin of Danube. Black Sea washes the country from the east. A southern part of Romania is occupied by the Transvaal Alps; here there is the highest point of the country, mountain Moldoveanul. The central part of the country is basically flat.
The average temperature of January is from 0 °С to-5 °С in the plain part, and about -10 °С in mountains. Sometimes it reduces to -30 °С, in July fluctuates from +20 to +23 °С.
Romania is an industrial and agrarian country. The especially developed branches are mechanical engineering, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, wood-working and chemical industries and agriculture.
Many festivals pass during all year in Romania (the International festival of a jazz and a blues, Modern art festival). In Transylvania there are many historical places, for example, Chimiturul Vesel. In Tyrgu Okna the biggest underground sanatorium is located. There are balneal resorts Bejle-Feliks, the Efori-Nord, Bejle-Herkulane. Mangalia and Venus are popular sea resorts.
Romanian cuisine is based on vegetables and corn. It’s interesting that there is no tradition of giving tips in Romanian restaurants.
