Sibiu (IPA: [si'biw], German: Hermannstadt; Hungarian: Nagyszeben) is one of the largest cities in Transylvania. It straddles the Cibin River, a tributary of the river Olt. It is the capital of Sibiu County and is located some 282 km NW of Bucharest. It is one of the most important cultural and religious centres in Romania as well a major transportation hub in central Romania. The city used to be the centre of the Transylvanian Saxons in Romania until World War II. Sibiu was designated European Capital of Culture for the year 2007 together with Luxembourg.

From July, 6 till July, 14th in Pamplona is celebrated a holiday, devoted to St. Fermin, bishop living in ХIII century, who rescued Pamplona from plague epidemic. Being first purely religious, later the holiday has turned in colourful national celebrations.
