The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is located in the Southwest Asia and occupies a half of Arabian Peninsula and some of coastal islands of Red Sea and Persian Gulf. It is bordered by Oman, U.A.E., Qatar and Yemen.
Country’s political system is absolute theocratic monarchy. The head of state is the king who has unlimited power.
The average temperature in summer is above +30 °С and in January it is near + 10 °С … +20 °C. Precipitations are rare. The main sectors of national economy are gas and oil refining. People here are engaged in agriculture, oasis fruit growing, extraction of corals and pearls.
The country has strict norms of behavior in public places.
The religious centers of Islam and places of pilgrimage are located in the cities of Mecca and Medina. Here there is a Sacred Mosque with a sanctuary of Khaaba where the Black Stone, the main relic of Moslems is stored.
In Riyadh it is possible to visit an Archeology and Ethnography Museum and also to see Royal palace Al Taif. This city is a popular resort, but it is strictly forbidden to Moslems to appear in this city. Abha is very popular among tourists. Beautiful landscapes and local sights amaze with its uniqueness.
