Seychelles is an island state which is located in Indian Ocean near the island Madagascar. The state consists of 115 islands.
Climate is subequatorial. The average temperature is +26 … +28 °С.
Islands were opened by Europeans in 16 century and later became the piracy capital of Indian Ocean. In 18 century the islands were colonized by France. Seychelles became independent state in 1976. Nowadays it is the republican country in which the head is the president. The republic is divided into 23 administrative districts.
It is the agrarian country. Farmers grow up such cultures as coconut palm trees, vanilla and cinnamon. The industry is consists only of processing the agricultural production. Fishery is developed.
Seychelles are well-known for the national food that includes many spices, rice and seafood.
In the national park St. Ann there lives the well-known huge turtle, named Esmeralda. Its age is 200 years.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
