The kingdom of Spain is located in the southwest of Europe and occupies a part of Iberian Peninsula, Canaries and Balearic islands in Mediterranean Sea.
Political system is constitutional monarchy; the head of state is king.
90 percent of the country is mountains and uplands. The feature of the climate is in drastic differential between temperature in summer (50 °С) and in winter (0 °С). Spain is industrial-agrarian country. Spanish wines are admitted all over the world.
Developed industries are ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, petroleum refining and agriculture. Also people are occupied in olive oil producing.
Fiestas glorify Spain all over the world (this tradition is popular in Valencia, Pamplona. Saint Fermon).
Corrida takes place in huge amphitheatres. It’s quite a show for tourists and native Spanish people. In Cordoba there is a monument to toreador and black bull.
Madrid is a center of culture life. Here is situated a museum of modern art. Also there are many national historic landmarks (especially in Part Alta) and famous churches. Barcelona has the largest aquarium in Europe. Old cities and resorts in such cities as Barcelona and Ibiza amaze with its uniqueness and exotic beauty.
