The democratic socialist republic of Sri Lanka is located in the southern Asia in Indian Ocean on the island of Sri Lanka.
The head of the state is the president. The country is a member of the British Commonwealth.
Low plains occupy the most part of the country. Here the monthly average temperature is +25 °С … 30 °С. Temperature in mountain areas is much lower.
Sri Lanka is developed country. Its economy basically consists of plantations, manufacturing of tea and export of coconut palm tree fruits. Also people here are engaged in fishery and extraction of jewels and salt.
The main remarkable sight of the country is located in the city of Kande. It is a temple of the Sacred Tooth of the Buddha «Dalada Malighava».Also there is the Royal botanical garden founded in 1821.
Adam's Peak is known as a place of pilgrimage of representatives of many religions. According to Buddhists, prints of the Buddha have remained on this mountain.
The main resorts are the Bentota, Arugam Bay and Trincomale. Sandy beaches, reeves, the first class hotels, concert halls and also the excellent conditions for rafting, swimming, fishing and surfing can pleasure every tourist.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
