The state is located in Southeast Asia, in the middle part of Indochina Peninsula. It is washed by the gulf of Siam and Andaman Sea. The state is bordered by Laos, Kampuchea and Burma.
The political system is constitutional monarchy; the head of state is the king.
Thailand is the agrarian country with the developed industrial complex. The economy base is agriculture, sea craft, animal breeding and extraction of natural gas, jewels, oil and barites.
The mid-annual temperature is +22 °С … +29 °С. The best period for visiting the country is from December till June and from August till September.
Many sights are concentrated in the country. Mosques, temples, palaces, pagodas are attractive for tourists. Other sights are the Big Royal Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Temple of the Gold Buddha, Vat Arun temple.
Here it is possible to walk around the Lumpini Park that is the largest park of Bangkok, to visit the Science Museum, the Silk Museum, and also to have dinner in «the Royal dragon» that is the biggest restaurant in the world.
Thailand is known for the sea resorts on the islands of Samui, Phuket, Pattaya and also Hua-Hin. The transparent sea, palm trees, exotic tropical beaches and good service will leave unforgettable impressions about this surprising country.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
