Holmes Chapel is a village and civil parish in Congleton borough, Cheshire, England. Until 1974 it was known as Church Hulme. At the 2001 Census the population of the village was recorded as 5,669.[1] According to the Index of Deprivation, the village ranks as the 18th least deprived ward in the United Kingdom (out of 8,414). Holmes Chapel railway station has services to Manchester and Crewe, making it a good base for commuting. Swettenham Meadows nature reserve lies 2.5 miles (4 km) east of the village and Goostrey lies to the north. The village has a number of public houses including The George and Dragon, The Red Lion, The Swan. There is also a shopping precinct with a supermarket, fish and chip take away, off licence, betting shop, estate agents, a chemist and a library, which has recently had an extension. The village has one secondary school, Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School.

From July, 6 till July, 14th in Pamplona is celebrated a holiday, devoted to St. Fermin, bishop living in ХIII century, who rescued Pamplona from plague epidemic. Being first purely religious, later the holiday has turned in colourful national celebrations.
