Wembley is a suburb of North-West London which forms the northern part of the London Borough of Brent. It is located 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Charing Cross. Wembley is the location of the English national football stadium, Wembley Stadium, the home of the English national football team and the venue for several football tournament finals. It was the site of the British Empire Exhibition in 1924-5, the largest surviving building of which is the Wembley Arena, major concert venue, and for 39 years the site of the Professional World Singles Tournament in tennis. It was also the location of the Wembley Conference Centre which hosted, among other events, the Masters snooker tournament which is now to be held at Wembley Arena.
