The republic of Vanuatu is located on the Hebrides and on the Banx and Tores islands. The biggest islands of Hebrides are Malacula, Efate, Ambphreme. On these islands there are around 60 volcanoes, 10 of them are active.
Vanuatu is a parliament republic, a member of Commonwealth. The head of state is president.
Average temperature is about +20 °С …+27 °С. In summer time usually it rains a lot. This is agrarian country; the base of the economy consists of agriculture, livestock sector and also woodworking and textile industry. Nowadays in Vanuatu foreign tourism develops fast.
In capital there is a collection of Melanesian artworks, including ritual items and islanders’ arms.
One of the most mysterious islands is Tanu. Here is found a mount of Jasur with an active volcano. Here you can look at the crater full of lava without a risk to your life. Special Tanu culture surprises with its unusual traditions and rituals.
Good conditions for beach rest, diving, windsurfing and snorkeling were created on the islands.

This professional holiday was founded by the Decree of the President of Russia № 1279 from October, 31st, 2002 in commemoration of 200-year-old anniversary of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among diplomats also there is a version, that Day of the diplomatic worker is celebrated on February, 10th as this day in 1549 there was earliest mention of the Ambassadorial Order, the first foreign policy department of Russia.
