Da Nang (occasionally Danang; in Vietnamese: Đà Nẵng pronunciation) is a major port city in the South Central Coast of Vietnam, on the coast of the South China Sea. It is one of the five independent municipalities in Vietnam. It was called Tourane during the French colonization of Vietnam.
