Dear prospective students,
I am delighted to welcome you on our website and I hope the information you find here will strengthen your intent to become students of the Novosibirsk State Medical University.
Our university was established in 1935. It was an institute back then. It only had 17 teachers (4 professors, 1 associate professor, 12 assistants) and 127 students.
Now our university is a modern scientific and educational center with a developed infrastructure (laboratories and clinics, institutes, libraries, hostels, athletic sites, printing and publishing facilities, video studio, etc.). There are 1500 lecturers and assistants on the staff of the university and more than 5000 full and part-time students.
Education is provided in the following areas: general medicine, pediatrics, stomatology, pharmacology, nursing, social work, clinical psychology, bioecology, economics and management in public health.
Our students have the opportunity to continue the education through our postgraduate programs, internship, residency, and other forms of advanced studies.
The educational environment at the NSMU encourages students to develop creative approach to education and research as well as to sports and arts. Students are engaged in scientific study groups and laboratories, take part in various contests and conferences.
The university has a drama theatre and vocal and dancing groups as well. Students successfully participate in different festivals and contests.
All our students have the opportunity to participate in the student government on different layers of management.
Our university is proud of its achievements and confidently faces the future:
- today we are among 10 (out of 47) best medical universities in Russia
- we have ISO standard (International Organization for Standardization)
- with the great scientific potential of our teaching staff (out of 890 teachers 218 have a doctor’s degree, 316 teachers are masters of science) we provide conditions for their professional growth
- we constantly upgrade our equipment including soft- and hardware.
