Milas (ancient Mylasa) is an ancient city in southwestern Turkey. It is part of Muğla Province and is administered from the provincial seat of Muğla. It was the ancient capital of Caria and of the Anatolian Turkish Beylik of Menteşe. The territory of Milas district contains a remarkable twenty-seven archaeological sites.
