Guyana is located in the northern part of the South American continent. The country has an outlet to the waters of Atlantic Ocean.
In the territory of Guyana there are various rivers, lakes, bogs and falls. The country is called «the country of waters». Climate here is subequatorial, hot and damp. The season of rains lasts from April till August and from November till January. Initially in this territory the tribes of Arawak Indians lived, they were engaged in agriculture and pottery. But tribes of Indians have been destroyed during colonial wars by Spain, Portugal, England, France and Holland.
The basic sights of Guyana are situated in the capital, the city of Georgetown. They are St. George's wooden cathedral in Gothic style and a neoclassical building of Parliament which has been constructed in 1833. Also it is possible to append an American Indian hut "Umana Yana" to architectural monuments, its height is 16,5 m, and the area is 1500 sq.m.
In capital there is a botanical garden in which the tropical fauna is presented widely enough.
